Speaker of the House of Representatives Holds Talks with President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe

<p style="text-align: justify;">Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, held talks on Monday, April 29, 2024, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, with the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Hon. Theodoros Rousopoulos, currently on a visit to the Kingdom of Morocco to take part in the Conference organized by the Moroccan Parliament and the PACE on Tuesday on the occasion of the conclusion of the project "Support to the development of the role of the Parliament in consolidating democracy in Morocco 2020-2024," funded by the European Union and implemented by the Council of Europe.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">During the meeting, the two parties discussed the various aspects of cooperation between the Moroccan Parliament and the PACE. In this regard, the Speaker of the House of Representatives praised the record of the joint parliamentary cooperation and the projects launched by the two parties within the scope of the status of a partner for democracy the Kingdom of Morocco has enjoyed since 2011.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Speaker of the House of Representatives also illuminated the major projects launched by the Kingdom of Morocco and its achievements under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist him, including entrenching democratic construction, promoting human rights, and reinforcing women's position within society and elected institutions.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Besides, the Speaker of the House also gave a brief note on parliamentary action and extensive explanations on the legislative procedure and the main government bills under examination.&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">For his part, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Hon. Theodoros Rousopoulos, praised the quality of cooperation between the PACE and the Moroccan Parliament and the strides made in this area. He also noted that the PACE feels a great desire to pursue cooperation in other fields.&nbsp;</p>
