The House of Representatives: The House of Representatives was composed of 325 members elected by direct universal suffrage for a term of five years, 295 of whom were elected at local constituencies level while 30 were elected at national constituencies level.
The House of Councilors: It consisted of 270 members elected for a nine-year term. Three-fifths of the House were elected in each region of the Kingdom by an electoral college composed of representatives of local communes, while the remaining two-fifths of the House were elected in each region by elective bodies consisting of elected members of professional chambers. Other members were elected at the national level by an elective body composed of wage earners’ representatives. |
