Standing Committees in the House of Representatives (2021-2026 Legislature)

The House of Representatives held on Monday, October 11, 2021, a plenary sitting, chaired by the Speaker of the House Rachid Talbi Alami. The sitting was devoted to the election of the members of the Board of the House of Representatives and the chairpersons of the Standing Committees, in addition to the announcement of the lists of the parliamentary groups and caucus and their chairpersons.

The eighth section of the House’s Rules of Procedure (January 2017) defines the number of standing committees in the House of Representatives, their competences, and their formation.

Standing committees (Article 81) in the ongoing legislature are nine. Their chairpersons shall be elected at the beginning of the legislature and the April session of its third year.
