Fabrication of False Happenings

An online media outlet published, on Friday, April 24th, 2020, an article whose author claims the existence of suspicious acts in managing procurement deals within the House of Representatives. The author fabricated false happenings relative to the precautionary measures taken by the House against the outbreak of COVID-19 and questioned the integrity of some officials and people.

The House of Representatives denies the veracity of these fake news. Furthermore, it calls on all media outlets to adhere to the code of ethics of journalism and to ascertain the truth of information before publishing it, while observing accuracy and objectivity.

The House of Representatives also reiterates that its communication services are available to all media outlets to facilitate the access of journalists to correct information.

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives maintains the right to take all necessary actions, and the victims of slander reserve the right to seek legal redress.
