Rachid Talbi El Alami takes part, at the head of a high-level parliamentary delegation, in the 1st Conference of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement, held from June 29 to July 2, 2022, in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The convention of this Conference comes as a follow-up to the constitutive meeting of this network, which was held in Madrid last November on the sidelines of the 143rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. This body intends to enshrine the commitment to the principles of the Non-Aligned Movement, which was established at the Bandung Conference in 1955, where the Kingdom of Morocco was a founding member. This network will also work to ensure parliamentary support for the achievement of these commitments, provide a framework for cooperation and coordination between the Parliaments of the Member States in this Movement, and promote parliamentary diplomacy between the various international parliamentary bodies, with a view to broadening parliamentary coordination, particularly in relation to climate change, democracy, human rights, peace, security, and sustainable development.

It should be noted that the agenda of the 1st Conference of this Parliamentary Network shall include, among other things, the approval of its statute, the election of its president, and three vice-presidents, taking into account the geographical representativeness of the Network members.
