Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Rep. Salma Benaziz, Receives Delegation of the Peruvian Congress

<p class="Normal1" style="text-align: justify;">The Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs, National Defense, Islamic Affairs, and Moroccan Expatriates Committee, Rep.&nbsp; Salma Benaziz, received on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, a delegation of the Peruvian Congress on a visit to the Kingdom from May 6 to 10.</p>
<p class="Normal1" style="text-align: justify;">During the reception, Rep. Salma Benaziz praised the good quality of the bilateral ties linking the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Peru, which are based on mutual respect. She also underscored Morocco's strong desire to reinforce cooperation with Peru, noting the advantages granted by the Framework Law on Investment in our country in this respect.</p>
<p class="Normal1" style="text-align: justify;">Rep. Salma Benaziz also shed light on the various projects conducted by the Kingdom under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist him, particularly regarding social protection and renewable energies.</p>
<p class="Normal1" style="text-align: justify;">The meeting was a good opportunity for the Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs, National Defense, Islamic Affairs, and Moroccan Expatriates Committee to laud the positive position of the Republic of Peru and its Congress regarding the question of our territorial integrity.</p>
<p class="Normal1" style="text-align: justify;">For their part, the Peruvian parliamentary delegation members called for advancing bilateral cooperation between Peru and Morocco in all areas, particularly in trade and seaport construction. In this respect, the delegation noted that Peru is constructing the largest seaport in the Pacific, which will be linked to the Tangier-Med Port.</p>
<p class="Normal1" style="text-align: justify;">The visit of the Peruvian parliamentary delegation to Morocco falls within the scope of the conclusion of a partnership and twinning agreement between the region of Piura in Peru and the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Region in the Kingdom of Morocco, intending to reinforce cooperation between the two Regions and the two countries.</p>
<p class="Normal1" style="text-align: justify;">The Peruvian parliamentary delegation includes MP Ernesto Neyra Leon, head of the delegation and Governor of Piura, MP Enrique Castillo Rivas, Spokesperson of the Popular Forces Party, and MP Carlos Andrès Castillo Lpanaque, Regional Advisor in Talara in the Piura Region.</p>
