Speaker of the House of Representatives Holds Talks with Director-General of the International Labor Organization

<p class="Normal1" style="text-align: justify;">Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, received on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, the Director General of the International Labor Organization, Mr. Gilbert F. Houngbo, currently on a visit to the Kingdom of Morocco from May 6 to 9.</p>
<p class="Normal1" style="text-align: justify;">The talks focused on the significant reforms and projects launched by the Kingdom of Morocco under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist him, particularly as regards the social state project, which is a leading experience at the regional and international levels.</p>
<p class="Normal1" style="text-align: justify;">Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami illuminated the competences entrusted to the House of Representatives, namely legislation, government control, and public policy evaluation. He also underscored the House's role in accompanying the social state project.</p>
<p class="Normal1" style="text-align: justify;">For his part, the ILO Director-General praised the outcomes of his visit to the Kingdom of Morocco and the social reforms it witnessed. He also noted that he highly appreciates the Kingdom's social strategy, which aspires to prosperity for all.</p>
<p class="Normal1" style="text-align: justify;">Mr. Gilbert F. Houngbo also highlighted the commitment of the Kingdom of Morocco to respecting and reinforcing the key social rights and to the efficiency of social protection, stressing the important role of the Parliament and its members in legislating, controlling government programs, and evaluating public policies of a social nature.</p>
