From the Seat of the House of Representatives, the “Children of Peace” Call for the Primacy of Peace between the Peoples of the World

<p style="text-align: justify;">The children participating in the 15<sup>th</sup> Edition of the International Children of Peace Festival, organized by the Bouregreg Association on July 23-31, 2023, on the occasion of the Glorious Throne Day and under the honorary presidency of Her Highness Princess Lalla Meryem, called for the primacy of peace, the ethical development of artificial intelligence, and the construction of understanding and tolerance bridges between the peoples of the world.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Children of Peace, amounting to 500 children representing 26 States, expressed in a call they launched in Arabic and English from the Seat of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, their hopes for "a world where AI is harnessed to bridge the gaps between generation cultures and religions. With its vast capabilities, AI can help us break down language barriers, encourage cross-cultural exchanges, and promote dialogue." They also "urged governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the ethical and responsible development of AI, ensuring its applications are guided by principles of fairness, transparency, and respect for human rights for the betterment of humanity."</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Deputy Speaker of the House, Rep. Hassan Benomar, received the delegations taking part in this edition of the Children of Peace Festival and gave an address on behalf of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami. In the said address, the Deputy Speaker of the House noted that the Festival "is now a vital tradition that gives a clear and concrete idea to the children of the world of Moroccan children and their life in a strong, democratic, and stable society that enjoys peace and prosperity, and who love their country, its trees, its stones, its marvelous landscape, its seas, and its rivers, and that are also proud of their country's victories in sports, mathematics, science, arts, thought, culture, and beauty.”</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Rep. Hassan Benomar also welcomed the participating children, noting that the Kingdom of Morocco “is proud of its historical roots, its civilizational wealth, and its choices in favor of the highest universal values, under the wise guidance and vision of our generous Monarch, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify him, who always cares for children and their education, teaching, culture, and entertainment.” Besides, he commended the “choice of the United Arab Emirates as the guest of honor of this edition to celebrate its children, its cultural and social peculiarities, its values, its economic and urban evolution, and its rich image at the Arab, Islamic, and global scene.”</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Mohammed V Avenue in Rabat witnessed a parade of the Children of Peace from Al-Barid Square to the Seat of the House of Representatives, where the participating delegations took a family portrait at the entrance.</p>
