Chairperson of the Petitions Committee Receives Delegation of the Legislative Assembly of Transition in Burkina Faso

<p style="text-align: justify;">Chairperson of the Petitions Committee at the House of Representatives, Rep. Khadija Ezzoumi, received on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the Seat of the House in Rabat, a delegation of the Legislative Assembly of Transition in Burkina Faso, currently on a working visit to our country.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">At the onset of the meeting, Rep. Khadija Ezzoumi lauded the friendship ties linking the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Burkina Faso. In the same regard, she underscored her hopes that this visit would contribute to enhancing parliamentary cooperation between the legislative institutions of the two countries.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">On the same occasion, Rep. Khadija Ezzoumi noted that the Petitions Committee of the House of Representatives has managed to accumulate experiences, noting in this regard that the Committee reflects the provisions outlined in the 2011 Constitution of the Kingdom regarding participatory democracy.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Besides, Rep. Ezzoumi noted that since its inception, the Petitions Committee has received one petition regarding parity and is currently working on a petition that covers questions related to mountain areas.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">For his part, the Deputy Speaker of the Burkinabe Legislative Assembly of Transition, Mr. Daouda Diallo, noted that the visit of the Burkinabe parliamentary delegation to the Kingdom of Morocco aims to enhance the abilities of the Assembly members through benefitting from the Moroccan parliamentary experience that has accumulated major expertise.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Following that, the members of the Burkinabe delegation attended a technical presentation on the Petitions and Motions Committee of the Moroccan House of Representatives, where they received extensive clarifications on all the aspects of the matter.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Committee members, Rep. Nadia Touhami and Rep. Malika Zekhnini, attended the meeting.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">It should be noted that the Burkinabe parliamentary delegation includes representatives of the General and Institutional Affairs and Human Rights Committee, the Finance and Budget Committee, and the Sustainable Development Committee.</p>
