Joint Statement Following Talks between the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Speaker of the National Council of the Republic of Austria

<p style="text-align: justify;">During their meeting in Vienna on Friday, December 16, 2022, the Speaker of the National Council of the Republic of Austria, Hon. Wolfgang Sobotka, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco, Hon. Rachid Talbi El Alami, commended the strength and excellent quality of the bilateral ties linking the two countries, as they are partners in preserving global peace and security.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Besides, the two parties stressed the important role the two legislative institutions can play in consolidating the bilateral relations between the two countries as part of the commemoration of the 240^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Austria.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Speakers of the two legislative institutions also discussed cooperation areas that can be advanced between the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco and the National Council of the Republic of Austria in order to reinforce parliamentary cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral levels.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Moreover, they highlighted the importance of promoting mutual understanding, stability, and economic development with a view to encouraging the establishment of partnerships between the two countries, as the Kingdom of Morocco is a key partner to the European Union and a major actor in Africa.</p>
